Alan Wendell Gilbert

Alan “Wendell” Gilbert, 58, of Acworth, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2016 after a long illness.  Wendell was born at Kennestone Hospital to Sarah Elisabeth Roper and Edward Gilbert on January 20, 1958.  Wendell attended North Cobb High School and worked for Trim Line Sales for about 20 years.  He was a very warm, loving person who enjoyed riding motorcycles and fishing with his wife, Barbara.  Wendell had one daughter, Terri Ann Reece prior to marrying Barbara on August 2, 1996.  He is survived by his wife Barbara, who described Wendell as “my best friend”, his brother, Doug Gilbert, daughter Terri, and grandsons Ryan Alan Swafford and Jacob Hunter Reece, and other friends and family who all miss him terribly.

A memorial service honoring Wendell’s life will be held at Medford-Peden Funeral Home on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 2:00pm
