Alford Augustus Daley

Alford Augustus Daley, lovingly known as “Uncle John”, was born in Green Island, Hanover, Jamaica West Indies on October 19, 1939.  The son of Gilbert Daley and Egla Dawes, he received his education at Green Island Primary and Secondary School.

At age 19, he emigrated to London, England where he lived for 19 years.  He received extensive training as a Rolls Royce specialist, and also concentrated his skills on British and other European cars, including Jaguar, Aston Martin, Daimler, and BMW.

Uncle John was an ACE mechanic.  He often spent weekends and and other spare time tinkering with these unique vehicles, pulling them apart, then putting them together effortlessly.

In 1977, Uncle John emigrated to the USA. He lived in NYC, where he worked for years throughout the tri-state area, concentrated in New Jersey.

After a major health crisis, Uncle John retired in 2003.  He and his wife Hazel Daley moved to Marietta, GA, where they spent time together vacationing in Jamaica and England.  Uncle John especially enjoyed visiting Negril, where his ashes will be lovingly sprinkled into its crystal blue waters.

Uncle John is survived by six children, Janet, Michael, Charmaine, Neil, Melanie, and Elizabeth, five grandchildren, siblings, nieces, and nephews.  There was never a time when Uncle John refused to help a friend, neighbor, or family member assistance in a time of crisis.  HE Will Be DEARLY Missed, And TOUCHED Many LIVES.  A Funeral Mass will be said Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Transfiguration Catholic Church.  Medford-Peden Funeral Home – Marietta, Ga is in charge of arrangements 770-427-8447
