George M. Collins, Sr.

George McRea Collins Sr., age 86, of Marietta, GA, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016.  Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Friday, October 7, 2016 at Medford-Peden Funeral Home in Marietta with Rev. Mike Stephens officiating. Graveside services will be private at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta. George lived most of his life in Marietta, graduating from Marietta High School. He is well known as owner and operator of Collins Brothers Garage.  He is a member of First Baptist Church in Marietta.  George always had a story and a smile to brighten your day.  George is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Evelyn Collins, and son, Allen Collins. He is survived by three sons, Mack (Rhonda), Danny (Ruth), and Scott; one daughter, Lucia (Craig) Paine; two grandchildren, Justin (Brittany), Courtney and four great grandchildren.  The family will receive friends Friday, October 7, 2016 from 11 AM until the service time at 1 PM at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made for a six-year-old family member with MLD, a terminal genetic disorder.  Please send to Harper Fry, c/o Lindsay Fry, 230 Williams Lane, Ballground, GA 30107.
