Grace (Hoover) McCleskey

Grace McCleskey, age 95, passed away at her home July 8, 2016.  She was born in Miami, Florida on February 8, 1921 to Arthur and Electra Mershon Hoover.  Grace was a homemaker and a member of the Kennesaw United Methodist Church and the Circle of Friends.  She volunteered for many years with the Cobb ARC and attended numerous Cobb Special Olympics with her son.  She enjoyed sports and watching the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Falcons as often as she could.  She was an excellent cook, and enjoyed providing holiday meals for her family.  Traveling was a special enjoyment of hers, going on many cruises with her husband and her family, and traveling around the country in their RV. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred McCleskey to whom she was married 71 years, and her son Perry.  Grace is survived by two daughters, Donna McCarthy (Tom) of Kennesaw, GA and Joyce Smith (Lou) of Blue Ridge, GA.  She is also survived by four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.  A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm, Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Right In The Community, 1830 Water Place, Ste 120, Atlanta, GA 30339.
