Jamalle Jean Gleaton a/k/a Jay MasterFitness Gee passed away on March 24, 2018 in
Marietta, Georgia at the age of 40. He was born in Valparaiso, Indiana on June 7, 1977.
He was an Army veteran, fitness guru, minimalist prepper and survivalist. His fitness
journey began by earning his black belt in Taekwondo as a youth. He also participated in
track and field, football, and excelled in wrestling while attending and graduating from
Valparaiso High School.
In 1996 he left the city of Chicago to serve his country as a member of the U.S. Army,
11Bravo, C co. 1/327th INF Airborne/ Air Assault/ EIB. While in the Army he qualified
as an expert marksman, earned his Expert Infantry Badge, was an Airbourne paratrooper,
and also Air Assault qualified.
After exiting the military he became enthralled with all aspects of fitness. His diverse
fitness background that included Pilates, Running, Strength Training, Self-Defense, and
Swimming laid the cross-training groundwork that eventually became “The Nine
Rudiments” that he practiced with his fitness clients as he trained in his final home of
Atlanta, Georgia. He was an incredibly gifted motivator.
Jay MasterFitness Gee authored the book, “The Nine Rudiments a Working Body is
Intended to Learn and Practice”; he was co-founder of and inspiration for “B. Out,” a
small outdoor company specializing in gear and preparedness. He hosted the podcast,
“Survival of the Fittest.” He loved the outdoors. He was into prepping, survival,
camping, hiking, rafting and the overall beauty and greatness of nature. He loved fantasy
football.
Jamalle Gleaton is survived by his children, Tierra Bowers and Jamarre Burnett; mother
Juanita Gleaton-Cotton; stepfather Robert Cotton; sister Javiera Cotton; brother Myles
Cotton; partner Heather Shepherd; best friends Jerek and Joey Richard; along many
loving uncles, aunties, cousins, clients and friends.
