Margaret Holcomb of Marietta, GA, at the age of 87, gracefully passed away March 28th, 2018 with her family present, after years of suffering the devastating effects of Alzheimer’s. She was born on August 23rd, 1930, in Lenoir County, North Carolina. She graduated from Contentena High School and graduated from East Carolina University in 1953 with a Home Economies Degree. On June 16th, 1956, she married Buddy Holcomb.

Margaret is survived by her husband Howard “Buddy” Holcomb; Sons Howard III, Scott (Leslie), and Craig Holcomb; Granddaughters Holly and Brittany Holcomb; Sister Anne Haddis; and Nephews Jimmy and Bobby Haddis.

Besides being a loving wife and mother of her three boys of whom she was always so proud, she had numerous friends. Margaret was a very special, sweet, and caring person. Not only was she a great cook, homemaker, seamstress, and gardener; she was also an administrative assistant at a real estate firm. Margaret found time to square dance, tap dance, and line dance like a pro. She spent over 20 years at the East Cobb Senior Center and was a delight and an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing this remarkable woman. She always made sure all her friends got a little gift from her on their birthdays.

A memorial service will be held Friday April 6th, 2018 at 2pm, in chapel of Medford-Peden Funeral Home, at 1408 Canton Rd, Marietta, GA 30066. The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donation be made to your favorite charity in her honor.
