John Spencer Jr. Obituary

John M. Spencer Jr., age 92, of Smyrna passed away on March 2nd, 2018. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be greatly missed. He was a graduate from Georgia Tech, class of 1951. Retired from Lockheed as Chief Engineer for Tests and Electronics. A devoted member of King Spring Baptist Church. He also enjoyed bowling and golf.

He was preceded in death by his Granddaughter, Sarah Lynn Woolf.

He is survived by his Wife of 70 years, Gloria Spencer of Smyrna; Daughter Donna (Bill) Woolf of Decatur; Grandchildren Shannon (Matt) Woolf Connolly of Decatur; Great Grandchildren Liam Woolf Connolly and Paige Sarah Connolly.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, at the King Spring Baptist Church in Smyrna, GA, with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions to be made to the Salvation Army or to the Sarah Woolf Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Decatur Education Foundation, 200 Nelson Ferry Rd., Decatur, GA, 30030.
