Sydney (McGarvey) Parham

Sydney McGarvey Parham, age 59, of Marietta, GA passed away November 23, 2019, at home.

A Gathering will be held at 4:30pm Friday, November 29, 2019, at Medford-Peden Funeral Home and Crematory. A Celebration of Her Life will follow at 5:30pm with Pastor Tammy deSantiago of Atlanta Restoration Church, officiating.

Sydney was born in Nashville, Tennessee to Gerald ‘Mack’ and Janie McGarvey on November 13, 1960. She attended Kennesaw State University and graduated with her Associates Degree in Psychology. She married Joseph Parham September 13, 1983. She and her husband founded the local branch of Valcourt Building Services of Georgia and worked there until she decided to leave and focus her attentions on her family and home as a housewife.

She is preceded in death by both her parents, her mother having passed on November 19, 2019.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Parham, her children Joy (32) and Jason (31), and her grand-children Jubilee (8), Alijah (7), and Abishai (4).

In lieu of flowers, the family have requested that donations be made in her honor to The Hope Box to support the rescue and rehabilitation of victims of sex-trafficking.
