Thomas “Tom” Albert Hall, 89, of Marietta passed away Wednesday, May 8th.
Tom was born March 15, 1930 in Brunswick, Georgia. He served in the U.S. Air Force for three years from 1946 through 1949. Tom joined General Motors in 1958 and retired in 1990, serving in the Materials, Traffic, and Purchasing departments. His strong Christian faith, genuine love of people and zest for life touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He was a member of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta for 12 years. Tom’s interests included reading, traveling, and photography. His real passion was hiking and camping with friends from hiking groups in Kennesaw and West Cobb.
Tom is survived by his son Richard Hall, daughter-in-law Missy Hall of Marietta, son Larry Hall, daughter-in-law Kelley Hall, granddaughter Ashley Hall, and grandson Chad Hall of Marietta. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Hazel Wynnette Hackney Hall.
Celebration of Tom’s life will be Thursday, May 23, at 1:00 PM at Medford-Peden Funeral Home, 1408 Canton Highway, Marietta and graveside service following at Crest Lawn Memorial Park, Atlanta. Ron Hughes will be presiding. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Johnson Ferry Baptist Church or Roswell Street Baptist Church.
