Aloysius (Al) Charles McHugh 9-17-1938-5-6-2021
In loving memory of Aloysius (Al) Charles McHugh born on September 17, 1938 in High Point North Carolina, son of Joseph E. McHugh and Josephine E. Fletchinger McHugh. Al grew up in Mobile, Alabama and graduated from Auburn University. After teaching school for a short time, He entered into the Air Force Reserve and later joined the Army Reserve. He moved to New York where he met the love of his life Carol. They were married on February 23, 1963, moved to Mobile and had 3 children. He worked for several companies over the years. They moved to Peachtree City, Georgia in 1983 where they attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Al was ordained to the Diaconate in 1990 for the Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta. He served as acting administrator at the Catholic Church of St. Gabriel in Fayetteville, Georgia. Al & Carol moved to Woodstock, Georgia in August 2006 where he served as a Deacon at St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church until his retirement due to health reasons. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 52 years. He worked at St. Michael’s food pantry and with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He and his wife attended many Life Teen retreats at Cove Crest. Al went to be with his Lord and Savior May 6, 2021 surrounded by family and close family friend, Bonnie Carver. Al will be remembered for his big smile and cheerful disposition and love for all people. He is survived by his wife Carol of 58 years. Children Mary Dawn/Gary Kisella, John Fitzgerald/Sherri McHugh, Tanya Marie/Matt Robson, Grandsons Christopher/Laura McHugh, Andrew McHugh, Parker Robson and Grand Daughters MacKenzie Kisella, Peyton Robson, Great Grandchildren, Molly McHugh, Kathleen McHugh and Madelyn McHugh. He is survived by his Brother John D. McHugh and many Nieces and Nephews. Al was preceded in death by parents Joseph E. McHugh, Josephine E. McHugh, Brother Joseph E. McHugh Jr. James P. McHugh and Sisters Joan E. Wilson and Kateri Baker.
