Danny Bowie

June 16, 1961 ~ June 5, 2022 (age 60)

Danny “Papa” Bowie SR. of Marietta, GA went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 5, 2022. After a courageous second battle with cancer, he transitioned peacefully with his family by his side.

Danny was born on June 16, 1961, in Hamlin, TX. to Patsy Lujan and the late Rayford Bowie. He was the second oldest of four siblings. As a young boy he always enjoyed the outdoors and being outside with his siblings. He loved cars as a teenager and often gave his brother Billy a hard time because Billy’s first car was a Toyota while Danny’s was a 1966 Mustang (which he totaled showing out). Swimming was one of his favorite activities, and even as an adult, he bragged on his ability to swim the entire length of an Olympic size pool underwater.

Danny was a hardworking man that held many positions throughout his career. Amongst his favorites was the time he spent as a Police Officer, Detective, Fire Fighter and Paramedic. Besides spending time with his family and friends, Danny loved music, riding motorcycles, strong drinks, college football and the Little League World Series. He had a bright and energetic personality and left a lasting impression on everyone that crossed his path. His ability to make everyone feel welcomed will truly be missed.

Danny is survived by his wife Brenda Bowie; son Danny Bowie; two stepsons Lonnie Barker and James Stephens; mother Patsy Lujan; two sisters Valerie Pace & Rhonda Bowie; three grandchildren Jaxson Bowie (his pumpkin), Giovanni Stephens & Cameron Stephens; and daughter in law Rita Bowie; and a host of family and friends that loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father Rayford Bowie; Brother Billy Ray Bowie; and ex-wife Neva-Jo Bowie.

At the family’s request, no public services will be held. A celebration of life will be held June 11, 2022, at Pappasito’s Cantina @ 3:30pm in Marietta, GA, in lieu of the birthday celebration that was pre-planned.  Danny’s remains will be spread in a private memorial in Norris, TN. with his immediate family. Condolences may be sent to 2323 Luther Ter SW. Marietta, GA 30064.
