Douglas Anthony Morgan, 72, of Kennesaw, GA, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Wellstar
Community Hospice Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain. He was born on November 8, 1949, in Atlanta,
to Ola Morgan and Sarah Jeanette (Pate) Morgan; who both preceded him in death.
Anthony was one of eight siblings. He was preceded in death by his two older sisters and a brother-in-law, Shirley
Morgan, and Jewell Currier (Donald). He is survived by five younger brothers and four sisters-in-law,
Henry Morgan (Tracy), John Morgan (Mary Helen), Raymond Morgan, Larry Morgan (Redina), and Mark
Morgan (Kim). He is also survived by three adult children, several nieces and nephews, and great nieces
and nephews.
He was known to many as Doug, or Anthony, or another nickname along the way, but the
one he enjoyed and embraced the most was “Cowboy”. To his family he was known as Anthony.
Anthony really enjoyed his work. He had a history of working for the City of Atlanta Water & Waste
Water; he also spent time playing country music; he worked for a cabinet making shop; building and
selling custom furniture, and working many years for home builders holding many positions including
construction foreman. He then became an entrepreneur, starting Residential Preventative
Maintenance, Inc., where he worked for the last 19 years of his life.
Anthony loved to spend time with his family, and enjoyed any opportunity to take a road trip, he found a certain comfort in working on
vehicles, especially older ones; his special love was playing his guitars and singing. He also renewed his
passion in Christ when he found Freedom Church.
Anthony was a good man, a hard worker, and a loving, caring person who didn’t know a stranger and he will be missed dearly by all who know and loved him.
