Hestad, Einar T., Died 02/10/2020, Born in Torrington CT 1922 To Olaf and Kirsten Hestad.
A Graduate of Torrington High School, He was a Master Sergeant serving in the Army in WWII with the 35th Infantry Division Europe and Korean War Defense. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and other acknowledgements including the Combat Infantry Badge. Post war, he graduated from Texas Mines University, El Paso TX, He later became an Equipment Design and Engineer Manager for Torrington Mfg. Co., then District Sales Manager for American Standard.
Mr. Einar was preceded in death by sisters; Ethel, Solveig, Eleanor, Brother; Arthur and Son; Roger.
He leaves behind his beloved Wife Alyce Mary Hestad, Sons; Carl in CT, and Bruce in GA, Six Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren, Numerous Nephews, Nieces, and Many Friends. They all loved their “Gramps” and he loved everyone.
He enjoyed flying his Cessna 172 Airplane, Golf, Bowling, Woodworking, and Picture Painting.
Mr. Hestad will be cremated and interred in the columbarium at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA to be schedule at a later date.
