Hazel Wynnette Hackney Hall, 91, of Marietta, stepped into Heaven on Tuesday, March 5, 2019. Hazel was a loving, devoted wife, and sweetheart to her husband, and a dedicated Mother, Mother-in-love, and Grandmother. She loved them all, and will be truly missed.
Hazel is survived by her husband of 69 years, Thomas (aka TA), sons Richard (Missy), Larry (Kelley), grandchildren Ashley and Chad, 4- legged “grandcats and granddog”, Dusty, Sierra, Libby and Misty, Sister Florence Reaves and several nieces and nephews.
Hazel was a lifelong resident of Atlanta and lived in Marietta for 40 years. She worked for Potter and Rayfield for many years. She loved baking, especially black walnut pound cake and chocolate pound cake for her sons. She loved singing in the choir at church growing up and as an adult. As her eyesight grew dimmer she had to give it up and was very disappointed because she loved singing to the Lord. She sang many solos at North Atlanta Baptist Church growing up. Two of her greatest joys besides her family was shopping with her sister Florence, and having her hair done.
Celebration of her life will be Friday, March 8, at 1:00 PM at Medford-Peden Funeral Home, 1408 Canton Highway, Marietta with graveside service following at Crest Lawn Memorial Park, Atlanta. Joe Buckner will be presiding. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Roswell Street Baptist Church Music Ministry or the Johnson Ferry Baptist Church Music Ministry.
