James Aubrey Hughes

On Wednesday, October 16th, 2019, James Aubrey Hughes passed away at home at the age of 74 in Marietta, Georgia. Aubrey was born on March 20th, 1945 in Roswell, Georgia to Bertha and Lee Hughes and was one of four children. He married Peggy Sue Neese and they raised two sons, Brian and Jody. 

A hardworking father, small business owner, and community man, Aubrey was the owner and founder of Hughes Auto Repair in Marietta, Georgia. Aubrey took great pride in his auto shop and in his passion for cars. 

Aubrey was also an animal enthusiast and loved taking care of his Amazon parrot Beeper. He enjoyed Westerns, buying/selling at flea markets and was well known among friends and family for his unique sense of humor.

Aubrey was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Bertha and his brother Jerry Hughes. He is survived by his wife Peggy, his two children Brian and Jody and his two sisters Jeanette and Linda.

The family will receive guest from 3:00PM - 6:00PM on Monday, October 21st, 2019 at Medford Peden Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 22nd at 12:30 PM.
