Jayson Arthur Davenport

Mr. Jayson Arthur Davenport, 48, of Atlanta, Georgia, entered rest on Monday, February 6, 2023 at his home among family. 

Jayson was born September 4, 1974 in Columbus, Ohio. Over time, his family moved to Tampa, Florida, where he spent much of his childhood and young adult life. He attended Ballast Point Elementary, Madison Middle School, and Robinson High School, all the while earning principal's honor roll and maintaining that academic record all the way through. Jayson was also a member of FBLA and National Honor Society during his high school years and had a heavy interest in aeronautical studies and space shuttles. He spent 20+ years plus serving as a prominent member of the team Verizon Wireless and eventually transitioned into a director position of the fraud prevention department. In his free time he studied for and earned his pilot license. After earning his pilot license, he’d fly planes leisurely, which easily became one of his favorite things to do. He used to love visiting Cape Canaveral for Space Shuttle launches as well. Jayson was a gamer at heart and he was also very much into sci-fi related things like Star Trek and the like. He loved his family and friends dearly and always sought to take care of everyone in need. Many loved him for his charismatic demeanor and jolly attitude even in the darkest of times, always keeping a smile on his face. 

Jayson was preceded in death by his Grandmother Minnie Lue Davenport, his aunt Margaret Louise Greene, his cousin Bobby Luis King Jr, his cousin Aaron Keith Robinson, his uncle Larry Joe Goodman, his uncle Cecil Goodman, and his uncle Robert Goodman.

Jayson leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted father Charlie Arthur Davenport, his mother Lessten Davenport, his brothers Zuryel Davenport and Juvaro Goodman, his niece Jasmine Goodman, and his nephew Juvaro Goodman II. 

Jayson leaves behind his cousins Estelle Davenport, Evelyn Davenport, Roger Davenport, Jessie Lee Davenport and King Davenport. His cousins Ellis King Sr, Lyndora King,  Ellis King Jr, and Lakeisha King. Cousins of the Goodman Family, the King Family, the Collins Family, the Robinson Family, the Nuckles Family, the Davenport Family.

And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
