Joanne Ihnot

Joanne D. Ihnot of Marietta, Georgia passed peacefully with family on 9/16/2022.

Born in Cresson, PA of John & Virginia Diethrich, she is the eldest sister of two.  She resided in Akron, OH and after graduating from East High School, married Russell W Ihnot, Jr. (deceased) on 9/21/1957.

Joanne enjoyed an active life filled with family, church, golf, bowling, walking, water aerobics, camping, gardening, sewing and playing piano all while raising a family and working full time.

She had a long secretarial career with Goodyear Tire & Rubber in Akron, OH.  She and Russell relocated to Marietta, GA in 1979.  There, she worked and retired from Lockheed Martin, continuing her active lifestyle.

She is survived by her sister, Jacqueline Butler (Jimmie) of  Crawfordville, FL; daughters, Cheryl Evans (Randy) of Jasper, GA, Robin Andrew (Shaun) of Pace, FL, Joni Lyn Bracken of Marietta, GA; 8 grandchildren (+3 spouses) and 5 great grandchildren.

A Liturgy of the Word will be held at Transfiguration Catholic Church Chapel located at 1815 Blackwell Rd, Marietta GA  30066 beginning at 2PM on Friday October 21, 2022 with a light reception immediately following in the adult lounge.  All are welcome to join us in her Celebration of Life.
