Joyce "Jiss" Louise Sweigart (nee Yerger), 84, of Roswell GA, peacefully went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family and precious dog, Buffy. Originally from Adamstown, PA, Joyce is preceded in death by her beloved parents Robert and Ethel Yerger, husband Cliff Sweigart, and sister Betty Leisey.
Joyce is survived by her loving daughter Melanie & Jon Fiant and her only grandson Jesse; as well as her beloved sister Rosemary Johnston.
Joyce had an unrivaled sense of humor and in latter years came to have a passionate, personal
relationship with Jesus, her Savior. The final entry from her Bedside Blessings devotional by Charles Swindoll reads, "God doesn't tell time as we do. Sometimes He does His work at three o'clock in the morning; sometimes at noon. He even works on Sundays. He does remarkable things, regardless of our time of day... He ignores our deadlines and removes our crutches. He will leave our particular Red Sea absolutely closed, without an opening, without a sign, until He has finished teaching us the lessons we need to learn. Once that's accomplished, He has no trouble parting the waters and sending us through. Splendor and majesty are before Him; strength and JOY are in His place 1 Chron. 16:27."
A secretary for Dutchmaid Inc. clothing and customer service representative at Ephrata Diamond Spring Water Company in Pennsylvania, she is remembered for her love of dogs, eating out with her sisters, trips to the beach, listening to bluegrass and gospel music, and fun times playing bingo.
Also surviving are niece Diane & Gary Hertzog with children Tyler and Ryan; nephew Dale Johnston Jr. & Ann Archer; niece Carol & Larry Malek with daughter Stephanie; nephew Kenny & Kaye Leisey with children Kerre and Kyle; niece Robin & Mike Allen with children Jason and Amber; niece Ann & Dennis Moore with children Ashley and April; niece Michelle & Butch Goshert with children Jeff and Samantha; and other cousins.
