Juanita Redmond Obituary

Juanita Maritta Redmond was born on May 8, 1965 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the youngest of four children, born to the late Tommie Lee Turner and Naomi Marie Turner. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ursula M. Turner, and brother, Tyrone C. Turner. She transitioned from this life to her next mission on November 4, 2020.

At an early age, Juanita joined Cosmopolitan Church of Prayer in Chicago, Illinois and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior. Her daily life was reflection of Christ’s love.

Juanita graduated from Simeon Vocational High School (Class of 1983) and attended Catherine College, where she studied business administration. While in college, Juanita gained a multitude of skills that appealed to her self-starting nature. She was very meticulous, paid close attention to detail, and was well organized. Juanita used these skills in service to others. She assisted her daughter Simone Juanise with her makeup and adornment businesses and kept her husband Greg’s work notes in order.

Juanita never met any strangers; all those who were in her presence were treated as family. Her warm and caring spirit often drew people to her. Juanita loved all genres of music; soul, rap, gospel, or house could be heard emanating from her truck at any given time. She also loved calligraphy and all things concerning technology. Above all else, Juanita loved her family. She was a devoted wife, supporting her husband as he provided and cared for her. She was a loving mother that instilled strength, love, and empathy in her daughter Simone Juanise.

Juanita will forever be cherished by her devoted husband of 25 years, Gregory Redmond; loving daughter, Simone Juanise (Stefan) ; bonus daughter, Lolita Levingston; mother, Naomi Turner; sister, Carolyn Turner; nephews, Tyrone Finley, Phillip I. Turner (Sade), and Jamal W.C. Scott; niece Deborah Turner; aunt, Edna Perry; cousins, Willard and Harry Hart (Onetha/Marie) cousins, Shameka and LaTasha Perry; cousins, Kendall, Darcell, and Jeanine Davis; cousins, Loretta and Tonya Coleman; cousins, Angela and Adrienne Bush; and a host of other relatives, friends, and loved ones.
