Mr. Kenneth Paul McLeod, Jr, age 82, of Marietta passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, October 27 in the chapel of Medford-Peden Funeral home in Marietta. Mr. McLeod retired from Piedmont National Corporation after fifteen years of service as an accountant. He was an avid cyclist, often riding 200 miles in a weekend. A hobbyist lapidary, he made beautiful jewelry creations for family and friends. Well before, and then especially through cancer treatments, sitting on his back porch watching the variety of birds that visited the feeders and pond brought him joy and solace. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luke and Rena Mays, and Kenneth Paul McLeod, Sr. Surviving are his loving wife Rita McLeod, daughters Lynn McCormack (Vince), Joan Jordan (James), Pam Dukes (Craig), and Jerri Ferrell; sons Russ Kelly and Rick Kelly (Jennifer); his sister Gloria Coffey, his brother, Dr. Frank McLeod (Joann); sixteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make contributions to the American Cancer Society or to help with medical bills from Ken’s cancer treatment, c/o Rita McLeod. The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the funeral home.
