Mary Anne Lowery, of Marietta, GA, passed away on August 10th 2022, at the age of 83.
Mary Anne was born on August 4, 1939 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Stanley and Mary Sinchak. She grew up as the eldest of six and attended Duquesne University in Pittsburgh PA & Catholic University in Washington DC, completing a Bachelors of Education.
After university, she followed her dream to pursue a career in acting in New York City. Mary Anne trained with the prestigious Actors Studio and American Center for Stanislavsky Art in NYC. She appeared on stage at various theaters and on-screen appearances in New York.
While working full-time and raising her family, Mary Anne graduated with her Masters of Science in Elementary Education at Mercy College of New York in 2002. She was a dedicated Special Education teacher for New York City public schools. Her most challenging and rewarding position was teaching children in the hospice setting at the New York Foundling Hospital from which she retired.
By far her greatest accomplishment was raising her three children, supporting their childhood endeavors and higher education achievements. Mary Anne leaves behind her son Kelley (wife Jocelyn and 2 grandchildren, Sage and Kent), son Patrick (wife Jennifer), daughter Jeannine (husband Timothy Clark and 2 grandchildren, Kennedy and Samuel). She was proceeded in death by her husband, Patrick K Lowery, with whom she shared 47 adventurous years. While she enjoyed her last year in Georgia with her daughter and grandchildren, her heart will always remain in New York City.
A small private celebration of life will be held for Mary Anne. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to the New York Public Library, as reading and literacy were a major passion. https://secure.nypl.org/site/Donation2?7843.donation=form1&df_id=7843&mfc_pref=T&s_src=FRWXXHM_QWGPN
