Merritt Dean Buck 87, of Marietta, passed away on May 15, 2022. He was born in Mount Ayr, Iowa to Raymond Robert and Dorothy Marjorie (Stafford) Buck. He worked as a supervisor for Holiday Gas Stations (in MN, IA, IL), J&L Oil Company (in IL, GA) and Made-Rite Sandwich Company in GA. Throughout his life, he served as an elder and usher at church. He was a charter member of the Ray-Thomas Memorial Presbyterian Church in Marietta.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed playing golf, telling stories (always to get a laugh), mowing his lawn, driving (any type of vehicle/equipment) with great confidence, square dancing and traveling.
Preceding him in death were his wife of 66 years, Wilma (Ritchie) Buck, his parents, his four older siblings; Richard Buck, Roland Buck, Barbara Bentley and Donald Buck, and grandson-in-law, Zachary McTyre.
He is survived by his son M. Mark (Jill) Buck, daughter Pam (David) Anderson; grandchildren: Jeremiah (Emily) Buck, Addie McTyre, Douglas & Thomas Anderson; great-grandsons, Jacob & Samuel Buck and Wesley McTyre.
He will be greatly missed.
