Richard, better known as Rick was originally from Merced, California. Rick moved to Georgia in 1998. He leaves behind one brother, Kenneth Heptner, A son, Ricky Heptner, who has since married and made Rick a granddad. An aunt and uncle, Dave and Irene Cottrell, their daughter Vickie Cottrell Young and her growing family. In Georgia, he met his life companion in 1999, Judy Chastain, 20 years they shared life's up and downs and together they have a 17 year old son, Jared Allen Chastain Heptner, whose graduation this May will be missed by his loving and devoted dad. Rick was a family man who loved life, he loved to have family days of a road trip or picnic, or bbq at the pool, he didn't care, just wanted to spend time with his family. He made everyone around him smile with his easy going, joking and playful ways. He is loved so much and will forever be missed. He left us way too soon.
