Roy L. Neal

Roy L. Neal, Sr. of Mansfield, GA passed away on January 6, 2022 at the age of 83.  Roy was born on September 8, 1938 in Jasper, GA to the late Lillian Jackson Neal and Claude Neal.  Roy was a graduate of R. L. Osborne High School in Marietta, GA where he met the love of his life, Elsie.

Roy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elsie Pace Neal.  Roy was a father of 3.  Son Lee Neal (Jessica) of Dallas, GA preceded him in death in 2012, daughter Helen Hodges (Chris) and son Steven Neal (Tara) of Marietta, GA.  He was a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  Roy is also survived by siblings Eugene Neal, Claudette (Charles) Sudlow, Wallace Neal, Richard (Irene) Neal, Belinda (Steve) Genda, and David (Brenda) Neal, along with many nieces and nephews.  He was also preceded in death by sister Wanda Winters.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 12 from 4:00-6:00 PM.  Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Culpepper on Thursday, January 13 at 1:00 in the chapel at Medford-Peden Funeral Home followed by interment at Mountain View Cemetery in Marietta, GA.
