Shirley Ann Payne

Shirley Ann Payne of Acworth, GA went home to her place in Heaven on December 24th, 2023 at the age of 76.

Shirley was born on June 24, 1947 in Atlanta, GA to the late John H and Minnie L Burgess. She is preceded in death by her 4 siblings and son, Derek Laursen. She is survived by her husband, David D Payne, daughter, Melanie Adkins, as well as her step-children with David, Jennifer (Jonathan) Miller and Chris (Karee) Payne, along with ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Shirley attended Kennesaw State, where she obtained her bachelor's in Business Administration. She was a Government Civil Service Employee beginning in 1972 until she retired in 2009.

There will be a public viewing on Thursday December 28th, 2023 from 6pm to 8pm and Friday December 29th, 2023 from 11:30am to 1:30pm at Medford-Peden Funeral Home in Marietta, GA 30066. The family asks that in lieu of flowers and donations, please consider donating to the Wounded Warriors Project in her honor.
