William Furman Patterson Jr.

William (Bill) Furman Patterson, Jr. born November 27, 1940 passed away September 16, 2020.  Bill was the husband of Mary Armstrong Patterson and the son of the late William F. Patterson, Sr. and Lylton Harbin Patterson. He was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth E. Patterson of Greenville, SC.

Born in Greenville, SC, Bill was educated in the Greenville School System. He then joined the US Navy and was also a member of The American Legion. Bill relocated to Atlanta in 1965 where he met the love of his life, Mary. Bill and Mary celebrated fifty-one beautiful years together enjoying their time with grandchildren and making endless memories. His career gave him positions which he enjoyed including being a dance instructor and a talent scout.  He also had many opportunities in sales to introduce new products to the marketplace. Bill was a member of Morning View Baptist Church of Acworth, GA.

Bill is survived by his wife, Mary; son, William F. Patterson, III (Uyen Ngo) of Temple City, CA; daughter, Angie Gilstrap (Allen), of Dacusville, SC; son, Artie Davidson and daughter, Jan Pritchett of Acworth, GA; granddaughters Madeleine and Bailey Bell Carden of the home; brothers, Don (Charlene) and Mark (Betty) Patterson of Greenville, SC; sister, Donna Patterson of Clearwater, FL; ten additional grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Special mention to “Miss Gracie” who loved her Papa. 

The visitation will be Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 11:00 AM with the memorial service to follow at 1:00 PM at Medford Peden Funeral Home, 1408 Canton Rd, Marietta, GA.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. Covid-19 guidelines required.
