WILLIAM T. SOUTHARD, 75

William Timothy Southard, 75, of Marietta, GA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at his home, Charter Senior Living.

Bill, as everyone called him, was a true hero, serving in two tours of the Vietnam War and having spent over 23 years in the Air Force helping his country. In his quiet time, he enjoyed painting and listening to classics from artists such as Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole, to name a few. He also enjoyed going out to eat and meeting/making new friends.

Bill was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren: his daughter, Wendy Mirbach and his son, Dwayne Southard, both of Atlanta; his grandchildren, Harrison, Lilly and Elia. He is also survived by his sister Sharon Gibson and his nephew Philip Gibson, both of Marietta; as well as his other loving family and friends across the globe.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 11:00AM at Medford-Peden Funeral Home, 1408 Canton Hwy. NE., Marietta, GA 30066: Interment will follow and take place at 2:00pm at the Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Veterans Cemetery Rd, Canton, GA 30114
