Mrs. Winnie Carlile Kennedy, 92, of Marietta, GA, went to be with the Lord,
Saturday, November 21, 2020.
Mrs. Kennedy was born May 26, 1928, in Marietta, Georgia, to George
Bettis Carlile and Grace (Duncan) Carlile. She attended Marsh Business
College in Atlanta, GA, and went on to serve with the Georgia National
Guard as a Civil Service employee in Personnel Management. She retired
after 20 years of exceptional service.
Winnie had a passion for art and demonstrated her talents through sewing,
quilting, embroidery, and painting. Her “green thumb” provided for decades
of fresh fruits and vegetables from her annual garden as well as an
abundance of those that she canned and preserved.
She was a devout Christian who taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible
School, and was an active member of the Sandy Plains Baptist Church.
She was known for her infectious smile and kind and compassionate spirit.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, James (Jim) Kennedy; sisters,
Marjorie Mills, Susan Carlile and Eugenia Webb; daughters, Lisa Cochran,
Karen Harper; sons, Donald, Brian and Tony Kennedy; 7 grandchildren and
5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service:
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Medford-
Peden Funeral Home, 1408 Canton RD, NE,Marietta,GA 30066 at 11 AM
Interment
Mountain View Park Cemetery, 410 Whitlock Avenue
NW, Marietta, GA.
