I had the real pleasure of meeting Mr. St. Clair when I interviewed him for the Marietta Daily Journal about his book, "Gravity - The Source of Earth's Water." He was 95 then, I believe, and I spent a few hours with him and I certainly learned a lot. I enjoyed his very sharp mind/observations and was fascinated by his life and memories. Later that day I posted a selfie of us on Facebook and told my social media tribe about this cool dude I had just interviewed. We emailed a few times after our meeting and he autographed a book for me. I've never forgotten him and I never will. Thank you for your service, sir, and condolences to your friends and family.

Dear Myers Family:

Please accept my belated but sincere condolences. I direct the US Navy Japanese/Oriental Language School Archival project. I have been in contact with CDR Myers since 2000. We have had the honor to preserve the historical legacy of the school, its sensei, attendees and graduates. Over the past 17 years I have had the privilege and pleasure to contact, correspond with, and converse with over 600 WWII veteran language officers and sensei. I found them to be, in turn: distinguished, fascinating, funny, wise, humble, accomplished, interesting, and crusty. The only drawback to the project was the sad duty to write messages like this one. Again, you have my sympathies.
